What if the key to achieving peace lies within, in the act of creation itself?
At Project Create Peace, we are exploring a bold idea: peace is a physiological state that can be cultivated through art. Our symbol—a blend of the Tree of Life, Fibonacci spirals, and the Fountain of Renewal—is more than just an image. It serves as a tool for both neural and social transformation.
Scientific research from the HeartMath Institute shows that when we create with intention, our hearts and brains synchronize. This state of heart-mind coherence has measurable effects: heart rhythms become more orderly, stress hormones decrease, the prefrontal cortex (the brain’s problem-solving center) becomes more active, and oxytocin flows, fostering trust and connection. In essence, drawing this symbol is not just an artistic act—it’s a way of biohacking unity into existence. The act of creation aligns us to the source within, and science proves it!
A 2016 study by Drexel University revealed that just 45 minutes of art-making can reduce cortisol levels by 75%. Our symbol offers the mind a focus, transforming chaos into calm. Even more powerful, when groups of people co-create, their heartbeats actually sync up. Imagine a global community of millions, all creating together in harmony—a global coherence field. Just as the Nike swoosh primes us for the motivation to exercise, the new symbol for peace primes us to redirect the mind toward the belief in a more peaceful future.
This September, we’re hosting an art show to amplify this ripple effect. We are seeking artists to participate! All mediums are welcome. Help us lift this art movement off the ground, be a part of real change for the world. Check out the Submission page and join us!
Peace isn’t something that happens passively—it’s a practice we actively paint into existence. We rewire our brains when we do art. This is how we create a new world that values peace. Thank you for reading!
