Focus on Peace

It is said that the average attentions span has shrunk from 20 seconds in 2000 to only 8 seconds today. Goldfish have an 8 second attention span. Getting people's attention is easy if you spew outrage, or even completely made up lies, but no one seems to get excited about peace.

Experts studying peace state that the number one issue is that we do not value peace. There is no value to peaceful living. We are programmed in our society to seek the outrage, the anger, and the gossip. We are systematically being dumbed down and few of us even realize it is happening. We are the frogs set to boil, and our mentality is simply: Make is shorter.

Make it shorter so that people pay attention.

Project Create Peace is most challenging in this regard. The effort to shorten the concept does not, in my opinion, add value to the cause. We need to seek that which feeds the soul. We need to look deeper than this society understands, for the concepts of how we shift from one way of thinking to another requires a good, hard look within.

We need to find peace within to seek peace for the world. Our current structure of society is driven by a predatory capitalist agenda. The current power structure is deeply manipulative, consuming our every second of attention by design, not by accident.

Creating art isn’t just a pastime—it is the key component to a global revolution. It is how we find creative solutions to our problems, and the courage to face them head on. Creativity rewires our brains, enhancing our logical thinking skills and helps us reclaim our intuition as the guiding force in our lives.

Art is an act of defiance that stands in direct opposition to a world that seeks to keep you spinning, in an effort to extract, demoralize, and reduce your spirit. Project Create Peace is about building solidarity behind a shared vision for our future where we are not enslaved to the predatory effects of global capitalism.

Our collective energy output on this planet must be shifted from the predatory nature of fear and helplessness toward courage and power. Art, and specifically a new symbol for Peace that provides both a tangible image, and a mental therapy is the key to creating this new global reality.  This is a symbol that focuses our collective consciousness toward a more harmonious future. When we create, we’re not just making art—we’re shifting the dynamic from being victims of chaos to being creators of our reality.

This symbol is an invitation. An invitation to pause, to create, and to disconnect. Disconnect from the onslaught of media that seeks to consume you, and instead, focus your energy on an imagined future that leads to better outcomes for all of humanity.
